Nothing New To See Here

While many of us are happy to watch the eye candy that is Ryan Paevey, it is rather pathetic that Hallmark keeps feeding us the exact same plot and taking advantage of our fandom. Too much of a good thing ceases to be a good thing. Imagine eating your favorite food every day for dinner. Sounds good in theory, but it quickly grows unpalatable. I packed PBJ for most of my high school lunches, and after graduation, nearly 20 years ticked by before I could eat one again.

We have watched a gazillion event planners get upset to learn the family business is being sold, only to take it over because their career really hasn’t been satisfying after all. Good grief, Hallmark! Changing an elment or two to the story does not give us a new story. Dylan’s company buys the inn and plans a redesign, which is slightly different than keeping ownership in the family, but the plot is still recycled.

Don’t you wonder how any self-respecting actor can continue to take on roles that are completely identical? How do they perfect their craft and reach greater heights? No matter what role a leading actor has in a Hallmark movie, they act the same. They never shift personas, no matter what the script. How are they not bored out of their gourds?

Once Again, “Woke” Elements Ruin The Movie

Wokeness continues to kill the iconic Hallmark brand.

In Coyote Christmas Creek, the carefully selected diverse cast looks farcical and ridiculous, all to make sure whiteness doesn’t dominate. This is ludicrous. Hallmark’s most beloved leading actors and actresses are white. Sorry. This puts Hallmark in a tricky position; they need their A-listers to attract viewers, but they must simultaneously appeal to the woke mob or risk retaliation. The solution? Pair as many white leads with as many non-whites as possible. This insults all parties. Non-whites should be insulted that they can’t be relied upon to succesfully carry a Hallmark movie, and whites should be affronted that they are being treated as pariahs. There is a way to be inclusive without being stupid.

This formula is what causes leads like Ryan Paevey and Janel Parrish to have net zero chemistry. Both actors shine in other movies with different partners, but Hallmark is willing to sacrifice chemistry at the alter, something fans crave in these movies, for the sake of a progressive political agenda that casts actors based on skin color rather than talent or synergy.

The worst part of this movie is the lesbianism between Quinn and Mia. In 2020, Hallmark had two gay guys exchange glances in Matching Hearts, but if you blinked, you missed it. This was to gain a toe hold. We are now seeing filth and perversion take center stage to normalize what is an abomination that is not normal. What’s next? A dude in a dress crushing on another man? It would give don we now our gay apparel new meaning.
