Christmas in Harmony Boasts Star-Studded Cast
Ashleigh Murray (Harmony) is best known for her part as Josie in the CW’s Riverdale–the lead singer of Josie and the Pussycats. While her voice is lovely, her performance as a Hallmark leading lady is forgettable. She doesn’t possess the on-screen charisma to capture the hearts of fans.

Luke James (Kyle), on the other hand, is a natural. James doesn’t fit the hunk model of a leading man, but he brings other qualities to the table. He’s a three-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, so he doesn’t have to “fake it until you make it” in this movie. He has toured with superstars, been on Broadway, appeared in a variety of TV shows, and has recorded his own albums. James IS the music, and it flows through him in Christmas in Harmony, lending his character depth and authenticity.

You may recognize Michelle Williams (Melo-D Star) as a former member of Destiny’s Child, along with Beyonce, so she doesn’t just play a hot singing sensation in this movie–she is big musical star!

Williams hasn’t recorded a solo album since 2014, but in May 2021, she released a book about her battle with depression.
With a career spanning three decades, you’ve undoubtedly seen Loretta Devine many times before, even if you can’t remember where. Most notably, she’s played in Waiting to Exhale, The Preacher’s Wife, and Women Though Art Loosed, but she’s appeared in tons of TV shows and on Broadway as well.

Get Your Southern Gospel On!
You don’t have to like Southern Gospel to appreciate the musical talent showcased in this movie–the choir is fabulous. Handel may have been spinning in his grave to hear the Hallelujah Chorus after Kyle and Harmony tinker with perfection, but they make it work.
Hallmark has been steering clear of faith in their more recent productions, so it is refreshing to see a movie that quotes scripture and sings a non-secular Christmas song focused on Jesus. After all, that’s what Christmas is all about!
